Hunan Public Security Department Employs Dentons Changsha Attorney as Special Supervisor

On April 28, 2016, the Public Security Department of Hunan Province held a ceremony and a meeting on the employment of the sixth batch of special supervisors.
 
Senior partner He Zhengcai from Dentons Changsha office, the only representative from the local attorneys’ circle, was employed as one of the supervisors after Yang Qijun, the provincial Party committee member and vice head of the Public Security Department announced “Decision of the Public Security Department of Hunan on the Employment of the Sixth Batch of Special Supervisors for the Province’s Public Security Organs”. Huang Guanchun, vice governor of Hunan and Party secretary and head of the Public Security Department, awarded employment letters to the 24 special supervisors.

Huang also addressed the subsequent meeting. He said, special supervisors participates in and supervises the work of the public security organs on behalf of all walks of life; therefore, they are important forces for improving the organs’ quality of work and team building, establishing harmonious relationships between the police and the citizens, and impelling transformation and upgrading of police services. He required the supervisors familiarize themselves with public security work as soon as possible to better assume their roles in overseeing police officers’ behavior, contributing ideas, passing on public opinions and needs and publicizing public security knowledge.

He, talking about his thoughts on the employment, said he felt trust and a sense of responsibility at the same time. He vowed to do his best to assist transformation of the public security organs and safeguard the authority and integrity of law enforcement agencies.

The meeting, hosted by Zhou Saibao, the Department’s Party committee member and Discipline Inspection Committee secretary, was also attended by Dai Gang, vice head of the Department’s Garrison Command Office, Shi Liaobing, vice head of publicity under the Department’s Political Office, Jiang Jianxiang, head of the Department’s Police Safeguard Office, Song Hongbing and Fang Tulin, vice secretaries of the Department’s Discipline Inspection Committee, Zhang Hui, head of the Department’s General Office of Economic Crime Investigation, Ding Yangyun, head of the Department’s Public Order Office, Liu Xiangqi, political commissar of the Department’s Anti-drug Office, and Zhao Jian, the Department’s Criminal Investigation Office.
