CIETAC Representatives Visit Headquarters of Dacheng

On March 18, a group of five led by Leng Haidong, vice secretary-general of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) visited Dacheng’s Beijing head office and held a meeting with the attorneys.

Ma Jiangtao, senior partner and vice head of the Standing Committee, received the guests and hosted the meeting. Ma introduced to the guests Dacheng’s performance in arbitration in recent years and the combination between Dacheng and Dentons.

Leng expressed thanks to Dacheng on behalf of CIETAC for the support and cooperation from Dacheng in the past few years. He said that CIETAC and Dacheng has maintained long-term cooperative relations; a number of attorneys from Dacheng were arbitrators at the Commission; meanwhile, Dacheng’s attorneys also represented a large number of arbitration cases settled at CIETAC. The visit, he said, aimed to hear advice and suggestions from Dacheng and he hoped that Dacheng would support CIETAC’s work as always.

During the meeting, senior partners Yuan Huazhi, Liu Haiping, Zhu Yongrui, Li Tao and Liu Chi had heated discussions with CIETAC representatives. Their topics ranged from arbitration procedures, selection and management of arbitrators, matching of client needs and CIETAC’s services, case charge, to differences between CIETAC and international arbitration organizations, arbitration rules and standards and the evidence guide.

The constructive advice and suggestions proposed by Dacheng was echoed and approved by CIETAC representatives.
