Dacheng Law Offices Proudly Supports ALM's 2013 US-China Legal Summit

(Beijing, 21 March 2013) Major PRC-based law firm Dacheng Law Offices (“Dacheng”) has proudly supported, as the exclusive PRC law firm sponsor, the 2013 US-China Legal Summit presented by ALM held on 4 March 2013 in Hong Kong SAR, China.

ALM, the publisher of The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel, and The Asian Lawyer, is a New York-based leading provider of legal and commercial real estate news and information in the world. The American Lawyer, one of ALM’s flagship publications, leads major annual legal industry surveys and ranks the world’s top 100 law firms by number of attorneys, profits per partner and overall revenue.

The summit is a major international legal conference in the Asia-Pacific region this year, bringing together some of the most senior executives, bankers and in-house counsels from household name companies in the largest and the second largest economies in the world. The focus of this year’s summit is to ask major US and PRC law firms whether different approaches to the law will be another stressor on the US-China relationship, or will common understandings of law ultimately help the US and China smooth out their differences when it comes to business and beyond.

Dacheng, as the exclusive PRC-based law firm sponsor, works with five major US-based top international law firms to sponsor the summit and discusses the fast-changing landscape in the law of business and the business of law between the US and China. Representing Dacheng in the summit are Dennis Yongquan DENG (Senior Partner, Beijing), Margaret Shuyuan GU (Senior Partner, Beijing), Vivien Wei TUO (Senior Partner, Beijing), Huachun DONG (Consultant, Beijing), Jeffrey Xinyu LIU (Senior Partner, Shanghai), Hanqi WANG (Senior Partner, Shanghai) and Jun Wang (Foreign Legal Consultant, Shanghai). Dennis Yongquan DENG took part in a panel discussion on the topic of US-China legal profession development, debating major issues that still confront the Chinese legal profession and answering whether some of the bigger Chinese firms can challenge US firms on their home turf when they venture abroad.

Mr Zhongde WANG, Dacheng’s Managing Partner, hailed the event as a major success from Beijing: “We are very proud of becoming the exclusive PRC-base law firm sponsor to support this major international legal event. We appreciate this great opportunity to work with ALM and listen to various views and concerns expressed by our colleagues and friends from the other side of the Pacific Ocean. Having celebrated the firm’s achievements for the past twenty years in last November in Beijing, we are now ready to move forward with a view to taking our firm’s integration, sophistication, quality consistency, professionalism and internalisation to the next level. We will grow our business with our clients, and will therefore be committed to striking a proper balance between our top-quality PRC law advice offering and our international law capacity building”.
