Dentons Wuhan Office and Wuhan Law Society Jointly Launch the Competition Law Committee

The first ever Rule of Competition Law and Business Environment Forum took place in the city hall of Hanyang District, Wuhan on July 21, 2018 in conjunction with the launch of the Competition Law Committee of Wuhan Law Society.

Hu Xuzhen, president of Wuhan Law Society; Sun Yuanzli, party secretary and vice president of Wuhan Law Society; Guan Taibing, secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan Justice Bureau, director general of Wuhan Justice Bureau, vice president of Wuhan Law Society; Zhou Yu, full-time vice president of Wuhan Law Society, Deputy Secretary of Wuhan Hanyang District Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, and Fan Likui, President of the Hanyang District Law Society, attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Peng Fen, deputy head of the People's Government of Hanyang District, Wuhan.

More than 100 people attended the conference, including those from Wuhan administrative bodies, courts, procuratorates, universities, social organizations, and law firms, as well as  competition law experts, business representatives, and economists from across the country.

The first batch of counselors and executive counselors of the Competition Law Committee were elected at the inaugural meeting. Zhang Yaqing, senior partner from Wuhan office, was elected as the executive vice president and secretary general. Dai Jianmin partner from Shanghai office was elected as the executive counselor. Partners Yao Qin and Huang Jun, and associates Cheng Huan, and Wang Qinghua were elected as executive counselors. Xiao Zihua, Executive Deputy Director, Partner Liu Julan, Associates Wang Ying and Luo Xi from our Wuhan office, Senior Partner Zhang Chunyao from our Guangzhou office, and associate Wang Xianhui from our Shijiazhuang office attended the meeting.

The launch was followed by the first Rule of Competition Law and Business Environment Forum. Famous competition law scholars and practitioners, senior experts in anti-trust administrative law enforcement, intellectual property judges, and industry and business representatives shared their views on some of the most cutting-edge and key issues in the rule of competition law and business environment.

Founded on March 13, 1985, Wuhan Law Society is a city-wide people’s, mass and academic organization dedicated to law and legal studies. It is an important component of the political and legal sphere in Wuhan and a crucial player in building the rule of law in the city.
