On 27 August, the 8th General Council Meeting of the 9th All China Lawyers Association took place attended by the Minister of Justice Zhang Jun, where NPC and CPPCC members in connection with legal profession, as well as non-executive heads of provincial Lawyers Association were also present. The meeting studied the talk made by the director general of department of justice, considered Standard for Lawyers to Handle Criminal Cases, and discussed improving credit system and information technology infrastructure in the legal industry.
Mr. Zhang highlighted at the meeting that the mechanism governing lawyers is an integral part of the judicial system and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics that our country enjoys, and the essence of our socialist society is to uphold the party’s leadership. In building up the system for lawyers, the party’s leadership is a prerequisite.

Peng Xuefeng, a CPPCC Standing Committee member and the director of Dentons China was also invited to the meeting. All participants were greeted warmly by the Minister.
