Judges from Baden-Württemberg visits Dentons' Suzhou office

On August 30, a delegation of judges from Baden-Württemberg visited Dentons' Suzhou office, accompanied by officers from the Supreme People's Court, the Jiangsu High People's Court, the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court and the Suzhou Bureau of Justice. Xiao Xiang, head of the Suzhou office, introduced our lawyers and legal practices in this office, as well as the development of the office since its establishment, especially the honors and achievements gained in recent years. Li Xiaoming, head of Suzhou's Criminal team and Professor of Law at Soochow University Kenneth Wang School of Law, Foreign-related Legal Affairs Partner Chen Shaokai, other partners, and representatives of young lawyers attended the event.

During the visit, the delegation and Dentons lawyers exchanged their views on Sino-German related legal issues; differences between China and Germany in relation to civil, commercial and criminal law; the education and training system for judges, and the judicial environment. After the forum, souvenirs were exchanged by both parties and they took a picture together as a memento.

This event not only demonstrated Suzhou office's ability to host international visitors, but also presented our culture and legal services level in foreign-related matters. It will have a positive impact on our participation in Sino-German economic and trade activities, and will enhance cooperation and collaboration of lawyers in the two countries.
