On November 1, a service agreement was signed between Dacheng’s Shanghai office and Shanghai Yuangu Culture & Media Co., Ltd.(“Yuangu Media”), in which Dacheng was retained to advise on a large-scale original musical named “No Zuo No Life” (“Wanmei zhi zuo” in Chinese pinyin). Chen Weijie, producer of the musical and other co-creators, partner Wang Shibing, attorneys Zhang Bing and Di Yedong took part in the signing ceremony. The engagement marks a new beginning for Dacheng’s Shanghai office in its expansion into the cultural industry against the backdrop of strengthening the nation through the development of culture and fostering cultural prosperity called for by the central government. 

Produced jointly by Yuangu Media and Shanghai Aode Media & Adverstising Co.,Ltd. and directed by Ye Xunqian (William Yip), a renowned Hong Kong director, “No Zuo No Life”, one of the few original musicals in China, tells stories of four people of different ages making different life choices. Cast of the musical features Hu Shasha, the newly emerged female jazz singer, Xiao Nie, well-known voice actor for computer games, Cheng Hong, famous actor from Shanghai and Guo Huanyu, whom the fans called “handsome uncle”. 

The first round of the show would commence on the forthcoming Christmas Day and would last till the end of the spring festival. Creators of the musical wish to deliver a message that no matter how hard life is, as long as you are still alive, you should pluck up the courage to move on.
