Dacheng Represents Xi’an Aircraft in Concluding Contract with Rockwell Collins

On September 24, 2014, Xi’an Aircraft Industrial (Group) Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “Xi’an Aircraft”), an affiliate with Aviation Industry Corporation of China (“AVIC”), signed a letter of intent with Rockwell Collins, Inc., a provider of aviation electronics solution for Xi’an Aircraft’s Xi’an Model Ark 700 (“MA700”).

MA700 is a new-generation turboprop regional airliner developed by Xi’an Aircraft. With the launch of such new products, AVIC aims to break into the world’s high-end aircraft market, strengthen and expand market share and establish itself as a world’s leading manufacturer of turboprop regional airliners.  
Xi’an Aircraft, an affiliate with AVIC, is a developer and manufacturer of large- to medium-sized military and civil aircraft. AVIC is a state-sponsored SOE directly administered by SASAC. AVIC was ranked 178th on Fortune 500 2014 list and came 6th in the subcategory of “aviation and defense”.  

A Dacheng team was retained by Xi’an Aircraft to assist in negotiations regarding purchase matters. Beijing-based senior partners Wang Jie was in charge of the team and counsel Wang Yi acted as lead counsel, with assistance from partner Liu Qian, paralegal Zhao Xiaochen, legal assistant Mi Yuan and Xi’an-based associates Zhao Wenbin, Liu Xiaoyan, Liu Suxia, Wen Junping and paralegal Wang Yaqiong.  

The team had previously represented Xi’an Aircraft in the conclusion of a letter of intent with P&WC regarding the purchase of engines.
