Early this year, senior partner Yu Hui from the finance department won the bid to advise China Life, the largest life insurance company in China, on the formation of an industry investment fund invested collectively with the municipal government of Guangzhou. The RMB17.8bn fund, which would primarily finance the urban development of Guangzhou, was recently agreed on by the two sides and registered.

This represents the third such fund advised by Yu, following an RMB10bn fund invested by China Life and the municipal government of Suzhou and another RMB9bn fund by China Life and the municipal government of Wuxi.

With the completion of these projects, Dacheng has developed superb expertise and experience on the use of insurance capital. Yu himself was also nominated 2014 ALB Dealmaker of the Year on account of the projects.
