Dacheng Attorneys Issue Testimony by Expert Witnesses on Class Action Against Sino-Forest

Recently, Dacheng senior partner Deng Yongquan, of counsel He Zhen and attorney Niu Yue, commissioned by Sino-Forest Corporation’s (the plaintiff) attorney, presented to Ontario Court of Justice testimony by expert witnesses on PRC laws, regulations and legal practice related to a class action brought against Sino-Forest by its investors.
 
Sino-Forest is one of the leading foreign-owned commercial forest plantation operators in China and one of the few foreign-owned private companies engaged in forest plantation management in China and production and sales of wood products. Incorporated in 1994 in Canada, Sino-Forest (Stock code: TRE) was launched on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1995, attracting investors from Asia, North America and a number of European countries.
 
In 2011, investors filed a class action to the Ontario Court of Justice requesting Sino-Forest to pay over CAD$7bn worth of damages.
