London—Dentons has won Commercial Litigation Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2020. Presented annually by Legal Business, the prestigious awards celebrate the 'very best in the legal profession'.

Dentons won for successfully acting for Sainsbury's, Sainsbury's Bank and the Co-Operative Group in the UK Court of Appeal in the seminal ATM business rates litigation. Subsequently, on 20 May 2020 the UK Supreme Court handed down a decisive judgment in favour of the retailers seeking to avoid ATM sites being treated as separately rateable units for business rates purposes. Dentons acted on this matter from the outset and guided it through the Tribunal and Court process.
