Recently, China Railway International Group (CRIG) launched the compliance manual preparation project. After fierce competition, Dentons successfully won the bid. The legal service team consisted of senior partners Wang Mei, Yan Liping and Chen Litong.

CRIG is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), one of the Fortune 500 Global Companies and has more than 2000 employees. Founded in November 2013, CRIG was integrated into a group company by restructuring of China Railway International Ltd, CREC Venezuela Company, CREC Oriental International Construction Corp., and CREC Laos Company. 

In order to avoid compliance risks in the process of "going out", the compliance services in this matter cover both domestic and overseas laws, and integrate compliance with risk control and internal control. The compliance manual shall meet the needs of CRIG's internationalization: incorporating international regulatory rules into the internal management standards of CRIG to help the company to participate in global competition in accordance with global rules; complying with the international and domestic common practices of compliance and due diligence, and adopting the golden shields, which will facilitate the company in rapid adaptation to local environment, identification of risks and better management of risks; building a firewall to prevent responsibility transmission, and other contents.

In the past decade, international organizations have been actively leading all the countries to strengthen supervision and jointly promote the strengthening of compliance management of global enterprises, transforming from focusing on post punishment to prior prevention, and requiring enterprises to implement more proactive compliance management.

For China, 2018 is the year of compliance for companies. Apart from CRIG, Ms. Yan Liping also carried out compliance and risk control trainings for many companies, including China Coal Geology Group Co., Ltd., Beijing National Railway Research & Design Institute of Signal & Communication Co., Ltd. and LS Group to promote compliance concepts.

On November 2, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission issued the "Guidelines on Compliance Management for Central State-owned Enterprises", ushering a new chapter in accelerating the advancement of the rule of law in central state-owned enterprises. In the coming years, Dentons will strive to grasp the new trend of strengthening corporate compliance in China and provide high-quality compliance services for CRIG and other central state-owned enterprises, so as to build a compliance model for central state-owned enterprises.
