Aigoul Kenjebayeva receives prestigious award from Kazakhstan’s Supreme Court

Aigoul Kenjebayeva, Dentons Managing Partner in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, received a prestigious award from the Republic of Kazakhstan Supreme Court “For the Contribution to the Development of International Cooperation”.

The medal was established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2011 to recognize judges, personnel of the Supreme Court and its territorial divisions, and other individuals for distinguished service in the development of international cooperation in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court, Mr Zhakip Asanov, presented the award to Aigoul Kenjebayeva on November 13, 2020.

Throughout her career, Aigoul Kenjebayeva has been an advocate for the rule of law, not only through her legal practice, but also in her roles as Chair of the Kazakhstan Bar Association, and as a member of the International Council of Kazakhstan’s Supreme Court and ICC International Court of Arbitration. 

She established the Almaty office of Dentons (then Salans) in 1994.  Under her leadership, the office grew into the largest international law firm in the country.  She is the preferred legal counsel to many international and domestic clients, and has mentored and developed a new generation of lawyers in Kazakhstan.
