Dacheng Attorney Honored 2013 Most Influential People in China’s IP Domain

On January 10-11 2014, the Fourth China Intellectual Property New Year Forum and 2014 Annual Conference of China Intellectual Property Managers was held at Minzu Hotel of Beijing. Mr. Tao Xinliang, head of Dacheng Shanghai office’s IP division and dean of School of Intellectual Property of Shanghai University, attended the conference and delivered a speech on IP talent cultivation in China’s higher-education institutions, enterprises as well as administrative institutions in the session devoted specifically to talent cultivation.
 
The conference had nearly a hundred attendees, including Professor Liu Chuntian, dean of School of Intellectual Property of Renmin University and president of China Intellectual Property Law Association; Professor Zheng Shengli, founder and dean of Peking University’s School of Intellectual Property; Professor Qu Sanqiang, dean of School of Law of Beijing Institute of Technology and the Institute of Intellectual Property Protection at Z-Park; Mr. Zhang Xiuping, former executive chairman of Copyright Society of China; Mr. Zhang Xiaojin, chief judge of the IP court of Beijing 2nd Intermediate People’s Court; Mr. Du Changhui, chief judge of the IP court of Beijing 3rd Intermediate People’s Court; Mr. Qu Ning, vice director of IP management office of Ministry of Industry and Information; and Ms. Wang Xiaoyan, chief representative and managing director of BSA (Business Software Alliance) China. The conference awarded “2013 Outstanding IP Litigation Teams in China”, “2013 Most Influential People in IP in China” and “2013 Outstanding IP Managers in China”.
 
Six law firms, IP consulting firms and IP service agencies were honored as the most outstanding IP litigators, including Unitalen, King & Wood Mallesons, Kangxin, Lusheng, Wanhuida and Co-effort. Professor Tao Xinling, Mr. Guo Shugui,CEO of China Technology Exchange, Professor Qu Sanqiang and Ms. Wang Xiaoyan were selected as the most influential figures in China’s IP domain in the past year. 15 people, including Bai Baoguo, Chen Guangji, Dou Xiarui, Jiang Yinxin, Lin Hua, Lin Ying, Qian Haifeng, Wang Cheng’en, Wang Xuming, Wu Jiang, Yang Jin, Zhang Liang, Zhang Yong, Zhong Jingheng and Zhou Huijing were named the most outstanding IP managers of 2013 in China.
 
Mr. Tao Xinliang was also named one of the most influential figures in the IP domain in 2012, an award created collectively by Patent Protection Association of China, China Trademark Association and Copyright Society of China. The certificate of honor was conferred on Mr. Tao by State Intellectual Property Office, State Administration for Industry and Commerce and National Copyright Association.
 
Mr. Tao also received an “Outstanding Contribution Award” from Dacheng where he practices as an IP attorney, after the management committee decided that he deserved the honor for his contributions in China’s IP domain and years’ of relentless effort to raise the position of Dacheng in this area.
