Dentons Hold Overseas Debt Recovery and Execution Workshop

On May 21, 2019, the Overseas Debt Recovery and Execution Workshop was held at Dentons Beijing office. The meeting attracted more than 50 lawyers both on-site and online.  

The workshop was hosted by Li Tao, head of dispute resolution practice of Dentons Beijing office. Li Tiezheng, head of the International Law Society and Fulunda Training Company, and Wu Rongping, senior partner of Dai & Associates law firm were invited to share their insights with the attendees on the background, trends and case highlights about overseas debt recovery and execution.

In the opening address, Ms. Li stated that lawyers from different practices in Dentons China were welcomed to take this meeting as a platform to conduct extensive discussions with colleagues from the International Law Society on issues such as development trend, market characteristics and practice experience of overseas business. Subsequently, Li Tiezheng, head of the International Law Society and Fulunda Training Company, briefly introduced the International Law Society.

As the main speaker, Wu Rongping, senior partner of Dai & Associate Law Firm in the US introduced different types of emerging cross-border businesses between China and the US, background of cross-border debt recovery, and related causes of action. He then conducted an analysis of typical cases in recent years and summed up the general procedures.

In the interactive session, the participating lawyers had in-depth, lively discussion with Mr. Wu on their personal practice experience and cases they had represented.
