The 3rd Pro Bono Legal Service Summit Forum and the 2018 Lawyers Pro Bono Award Ceremony were held in Shanghai on March 16th. Nearly 200 people from the legal profession, business community and charitable organizations from all over the country witnessed the announcement of the "Pro Bono Oscars 2018" winners. Dentons won six awards including the "2018 Annual Pro Bono Organization Award".
The Award was first presented three years ago. Since the "2018 Pro Bono Stories and Achievements" selection campaign was launched two months ago on January 19th, hundreds of charitable stories, submitted via the internet by legal communities from various provinces and cities, law firms, and legal technology institutions across the country, have been voted online and reviewed by experts, garnering nearly a million views and forwards and attracting attention from the wider society.

After the award ceremony, the forum focused on hot topics of the pro bono legal services, from "law + pro bono " to " establishment of pro bono service system ", from "how lawyers deliver pro bono service through charitable acts" to " prospect of specializing pro bono practice". A number of pro bono big shots shared their views.
In the forum, Mr. Zhang Jun, a member of the Management Committee of Dentons China, proposed three mechanisms for Pro Bono practices from the perspective of firm management, namely, the incentive mechanism, the support mechanism, and the connection mechanism. He said that the law firm should support lawyers to participate in Pro Bono practices, and the lawyer industry should explore and construct a mature social responsibility management system and a sound pro bono ecology of the legal community.
Solving social conflicts, maintaining fairness and justice, participating in social governance, and promoting social harmony are the glorious missions of the lawyer industry.
