On October 12, 2018, a meeting for publicizing and implementing the Construction Cost Appraisal Standard (the Standard) was held at Hangzhou Wanhua International Hotel. The meeting was sponsored by the China Engineering Cost Association (CECA), and organized by Dentons Beijing, Zhejiang Engineering Cost Association (ZECA), Zhejiang Lawyers Association (ZLA) and Hangzhou Arbitration Commission (HAC).

Shu Yu, Director of the Academic Standards Department of the CECA, Chen Sanlian, Secretary General of the ZLA, and Chen Huan, Deputy Secretary General of the HAC attended this meeting and they all delivered a speech. Cai Hongwei, Vice President of the ZECA presided over the meeting. More than 300 people participated this meeting, including officials from cost management institutions at all levels, industry associations, professional committees of the CECA, member firms and individual members of the CECA, engineering cost associations at the municipal and local levels in Zhejiang Province and their member firms, and arbitrators, judges, lawyers and corporate counsels.

The one-day conference was divided into three sections: 1. Xie Hongxue, main drafter of the Standard and standing deputy director of the expert panel of the CECA, gave a systematic analysis of this national standard; 2. Yuan Huazhi, main drafter of the Standard, deputy director of the expert panel of the CECA, deputy director of the Construction and Real Estate Professional Committee of the All China Lawyers Association, and head of the Real Estate and Energy Professional Committee of Dentons Beijing, delivered a presentation titled "Construction Cost Dispute Resolution and Cost Appraisal Case Study"; 3. Judge Li from the Supreme People's Court provided a lecture "Explaining Issues on Judicial Practice of Construction Cost Appraisal".

The atmosphere of the meeting was lively and the participants exchanged and interacted actively. The meeting was successfully concluded at 6 pm on the 12th. Dentons Beijing will continue to support the work of the CECA and contribute to the healthy development of the construction cost appraisal industry!
