On October 30, the 12th National Women's Congress (NWC) opened in the Great Hall of the People. Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Han Zheng and other leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the state attended the opening of the congress. Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and leaders of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the National Central Military Commission, attended the meeting. Officials from the central and state organs, relevant units of the armed forces, the central committees of the democratic parties, and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the leaders of various people's organizations in Beijing, some of the female ministerial-level cadres based in Beijing and the elderly leaders of the All-China Women's Federation, and female delegates from all walks of life attended the opening ceremony.

The Henan delegation consisted of a total of 63 women delegates from all walks of life. Among them, Li Xuyan, head of Dentons Zhengzhou office and part-time vice president of the Henan Women's Federation, was the only female lawyer representative in this delegation.
