On September 21, the closing ceremony of the Training Course "Efficient Working Skills" in the study tour of the 14th Youth Lawyer Growth Program (the Program) organized by the Beijing Lawyers Association (BLA) was held in Dentons Beijing. Zhao Zenghai, Zhang Zheng and Liu Weidong, Vice Presidents of the BLA, Liu Jun, Deputy Secretary-General, Han Yinghui and Sun Wei, Director and Deputy Director of the Youth Lawyers Working Committee (YLWC), along with the 50 young lawyers who participated in the online and offline courses of the Program, attended the ceremony. The event was held by Dentons Beijing senior partner Zhao Min, who is also the deputy head of Dentons Beijing Management Committee.
With the subject of "Efficient Working Skills", three lectures regarding "Big Data Skiils in Legal Practice", "Business Development for Lawyers" and "Production of Slides for Lawyers' Businesses" were arranged; at the same time, introductions to law firm training plans and boutique courses were organized. The Program received extensive attention from young lawyers after its launch on September 7. More than 160 young lawyers participated in the on-site trainings, and 1600 or so lawyers attended the online trainings.
On the closing ceremony, Dentons senior partner and Beijing office Board director Wang Lihong briefed on the basic situation of Dentons and our plan for the training of young lawyers. At Denton, young lawyers will going through three levels with nine ranks from joining the firm to becoming a partner. Dentons held targeted trainings on legal practice, etiquette and regulation for the young lawyers through the professional committees, in order to enhance their capabilities and skills. Meanwhile, various cultural and sports activities were organized to strengthen young lawyers' sense of identity and better fit in the firm.
Deputy Secretary-General Liu Jun gave a training entitled "The BLA is Lawyers' Home". She introduced the basic functions and status quo of the BLA, and described the assistance of the BLA to young lawyers from the aspects of the protection of lawyers' rights and business trainings. She hoped that young lawyers can actively participate in the construction of the BLA, maintain the professional image and make full use of the BLA's resources for their own rapid development.
Subsequently, Dentons senior partner Tang Huan and four outstanding young lawyers from Jun He, JT&N, YIFA, Jingtian & Gongcheng shared their practice experience and growth from the aspects of practice area selection, career development strategy, and balance between work and life. The officials commented on the lawyers' speech, and proposed that young lawyers could make proper personal development plan and focus on personal accumulation, and cultivate professionalism and strive to achieve their career goals and success.
In the "Young Lawyers and BLA President Face to Face" session, the young lawyers asked questions about career development and prevention of practice risks. BLA Vice President Zhang Zheng responded that young lawyers should remain down-to-earth in the early stage of their career, adhere to their direction, actively take part in the activities of the BLA and learn the relevant expertise, and improve their practice skills. BLA Vice President Liu Weidong stated that young lawyers should master their own practice area while extensively engaging in various field of law, pay attention to their approach of handling cases, protect themselves, avoid risks and steadily advance in their predetermined direction.
Director Han Yinghui reviewed the course of the Program and fully affirmed the achievements of this Program. BLA Vice President Liu Weidong spoke highly of the meticulous work of the YLWC and hoped that participating young lawyers can learn from the outstanding young attorneys for their perseverance and enthusiasm, gain experience and progress in the course, achieve better development and realize their career ambitions.
At the end of the event, the officials awarded the certificates to the representatives of the participating lawyers, and the attendees visited Dentons' Beijing office.
