On the afternoon of September 6, 2018, a delegation consisting of officials from the Ministry of Law of Singapore and lawyers from Dentons Rodyk visited Dentons Xi'an office. The delegation is mainly composed of Mr. Han Kok Juan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Law of Singapore, Mr. Pang Chee Wee, Consul General of Singapore in Chengdu, Ms. Lin Mei En, Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Law of Singapore, Ms. Shi Xiaohui, Deputy Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Law of Singapore, and Dentons Rodyk partners Melvin See and Li Chuan Hsu. Zhao Wenbin, Executive Head of Dentons Xi'an office and senior partner, hosted a symposium for business exchanges with the delegation. Nearly 30 people, including senior partner & head of corporate group Liu Xiaoyan, partner & deputy head of corporate group Feng Huaming, and a number of associates and paralegals, attended the symposium.

At the beginning of the symposium, Mr. Zhao first warmly welcomed the delegation. Subsequently, Mr. Han expressed his opinions on legal services in Shaanxi. He said that with the vigorous development of business and trade in Shaanxi, cross-border disputes would become more and more frequent and complicated, and the demand for transnational legal services would be further expanded. Singapore's advantages in regard to geographical location and judicial system will guarantee a neutral, efficient, convenient and reliable platform for cross-border dispute resolution. Afterwards, the other members of the delegation gave a detailed introduction to the jurisdiction, advantages, and recognition and enforcement of the awards of the major dispute resolution organizations, such as the Singapore International Commercial Court. In the end, lawyers from our Xi'an office exchanged and communicated with the delegation on the specific procedure of foreign-related cases.

The symposium has helped enhance the mutual understanding, promote the development of Dentons' Global Legal Service Network, and drive the communication between Dentons and the legal profession in Singapore.
