Dacheng Invited to the 7th United Nations Ministerial Conference to Review all Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules

Recently, partner Dai Jianmin, one leader of the antitrust team from Dacheng’s Shanghai Office, was invited to attend the seventh United Nations Ministerial Conference to Review all Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules in Geneva, Switzerland. This conference covered several critical items, including but not limited to promoting the competition of law enforcement agencies, methods of law enforcement, international cooperation in antitrust review on merger and acquisition transaction, role of competition in pharmaceutical filed and interests thereof brought to consumers, capacity building of law enforcement agencies, etc.

Director Zhang Handong from Price Supervision Bureau of National Development and Reform Commission was invited to make an outstanding presentation in the session of roundtable meeting with the topic of “role of competition in pharmaceutical filed and interests thereof brought to consumers”. The presentation primarily introduced what Chinese government has done in the reform of the drug price system: actively promoting the price reform, establishing market-directed formation mechanism of drug price, and contributing to fair and orderly competition in the pharmaceutical field. During this conference, Dai learnt hot issues regarding competition law internationally, and also communicated and shared the law enforcement trend of Chinese antitrust law with competition law enforcement officers and scholars.
